Today there are a lot of stimulants feeding into your consciousness. The constant news streams, polarising politics and social content has crept into every crevice of our minds and effectively eliminated any safe spaces. We are constantly on edge as we wait for the next catastrophe.

This urgency forces you to engage your primal fight or flight response, continuously pumping adrenaline into your veins.

When this becomes too much for your body and mind to endure, the brain protects itself by disassociating. You become numb to the chaos around you by retreating into an anxious and disconnected state of mind.

This is by no means healthy either. It’s merely a coping mechanism to deal with the relentless stress of your daily life.

And although this coping mechanism may protect you in the short term, it’s also preventing you from reaching your true potential in the long run. Deep down you realise this, and this heart-breaking realisation forces you even deeper into the pit of disconnected anxiety.

But it’s still no way to live your life.

And it’s okay if you need some help reconnecting with yourself.
